This album is a sonic journey through grief and healing, born from the sudden loss of my 18-year-old son, Owen. Seeking ways to reconnect with his memory and forge new ones in his honour, I turned to field recording — a practice I've always found uniquely archival and evocative.

With support from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, I embarked on a series of road trips to locations that held deep significance for our family. At each site, I captured the ambient sounds while immersing myself in memories of our shared experiences — hiking through forests or boating on serene lakes.

These recordings became the foundation for creating new sonic landscapes that honour our past while embracing the present.

The result is my first fully conceptual project, one that pushes my creative boundaries and, I believe, would have made Owen proud. This album stands as a testament to the power of sound in preserving memories, processing grief, and finding new paths forward. It's a deeply personal work that I hope resonates with listeners on their own journeys through loss and renewal.
